Crafted from earthen genes and the dust of stars,
Simian seraphim sibling, steps of magnificence,
Beloved within a bestiary of bounty and beauty,
Worship a liturgy of work in love in innocence,
Tethered to terrestrial times, scripting traditions,
A garden eucharist, the touch of transcendence.
Imago terrae,
Imago Dei.
The myths remember the hubris of our forebears,
Humus folk, arrogating in promethean insolence,
Cain, Icarus, Gilgamesh, Goliath, each a narcissus,
So all of us, each other moment, in lost innocence,
Fermenting in bitterness 'til avarice sips bloodlust,
Our souls plummet luceferian in pandemic virulence.
Imago terrae,
Imago Dei,
Imago Diaboli.
Lord, have mercy upon us; Christ, have mercy upon us; Lord, have mercy upon us.
